Apple to Announce new iPhone Tuesday Morning
It has been more than 10 years since Steve Jobs had announced the original iPhone in San Francisco. So we have been accustomed to receiving a new update and an iPhone release every September since. Apple is expected to announce a major iPhone redesign Tuesday.
The event will start at 10 a.m. PST. Here’s what to expect:
Apple will host Tuesday’s event at their Steve Jobs Theater, which is a 1,000-seat circular auditorium in their new head office located in Cupertino, which is said to have cost as much as 5 billion dollars to build.
Super Special iPhone
The company is expected to announce a special premium version of the iPhone to mark the 10-year anniversry of the smartphone. The cost for the new iPhone is said to be around $1000 USD.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but people are speculating that some features are going to be; a stainless steel body and a 5.8″ OLED screen that goes almost all the way to the edges of the device, kind of like the Samsung S8.
If this happens, there will be no more home button on the iPhone.
Something else that people are saying is that Apple might start using fingerprint authentication which could in turn, pave the road for face-detection.
What is the New iPhone going to be called?
As far as we know, the name of the new iPhone is still up for grabs. It could be called the iPhone 8, iPhone Pro or iPhone X. Nobody knows, so we will have to wait until tomorrow to see what they decided on.
Other things Apple will talk about
Some of the other release and upgrades that we might expect to see from Apple tomorrow is a new version of the Apple Watch with LTE so that it doesn’t have to depend on the phone anymore.
Something else that we might see is an upgrade to Apple TV, such as, 4K streaming considering they overdue for an update on that.
Apple is also expected to announce upgrades on their iPhone 7 line, such as, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, if they stay with their current naming and schedule. But it is the 10-year anniversary of the iPhone, so we might be in for a whole new ride.
